Twenty-five years of building in the Chandigarh Tricity: what's changed
The Tricity's growth from a planned satellite region into one of North India's fastest-developing urban areas has gone through this studio's drawing boards for 25 years.
When the studio opened in Mohali in 2000, the Tricity was still largely defined by Chandigarh's original planned grid, with Mohali and Panchkula only beginning their own growth. Twenty-five years of that growth — housing, healthcare, education, commerce — has passed through the same small studio.
What's changed is scale and expectation: healthcare clients now brief for NABH-grade infection-control planning as standard; institutional clients plan multi-decade campus phasing rather than a single building; commercial clients expect passive climate performance, not just a facade.
What hasn't changed is the region's climate, which still sets the terms every project has to answer to before anything else does.
